when to go

Egypt can be visited year around although it can be very hot (around 40c) in the mid summer months. Great in water but take care in the sun !

The Egyptian Red Sea cannot be beaten for value for money - within a five hour flight you have access to some of the best diving in the world with a selection of excellent hotels and liveaboards.

We specialise in Egypt, not just in the dive resorts but we also have extensive knowledge of the interior of the country. Many of us have lived and worked in the area for many years so please do call for some first hand advice and recommendations.

THE RESORT

El Quseir is a remote spot on the mid-southern coastline of mainland Egypt set along a beautiful fringing reef. There is little else to do here except relax and dive or snorkel on the pristine house reef.

Thanks to the high standard of hotel here this makes for an extremely relaxing holiday.

THE ACCOMMODATION

The resort of El Quesir and the 5* Movenpick Resort offers a tranquil setting in a beautiful hotel with excellent facilities. The diving here is all very accessible directly from the jetty or from ribs (there is also the chance to do 1 or 2 day dive safaris further afield).

THE CLIMATE

During the winter months of November to March the Red Sea coastal resorts of Egypt offer a very comfortable 22 - 28 c, perfect for a bit of winter sun. As you head into the summer months the temperature rises steeply peaking to around 40c in August! However, the high temperatures are made more comfortable with very low humidity and a constant seas breeze.

During the winter months we would recommend between 7 and 5 mm wetsuit but then only a 3mm shortie for the mid summer months. Please note that on some of the deeper dive sites you can encounter colder under currents.

Egypt can be visited year around with equally good diving.

THE DIVING

This remote spot has reefs that are amongst the most pristine in the area as a result of the very strict marine park rules enforced by Subex Dive Centre.

This resort is also ideal for snorkellers with some excellent reefs accessible directly from the shore.

THE OTHER ACTIVITIES

Although there are some excursions possible form here El Quseir is best suited to those just looking to relax and take in the odd dive…maybe read the odd book too…

THE NIGHTLIFE

The hotel has its own bars and restaurant of course but there is little else around…..part of its charm for most!
